SSI was founded in 1978 to provide comprehensive computerized systems to local governments and utilities. We are specialists in serving counties, cities, villages, townships, libraries, and utility companies as a single source for hardware, software, and related services.
SSI has over 450 customers in 14 states. Each of our customers receives the personal and direct attention of our dedicated, friendly, and experienced staff. Our sales and support personnel are trained to understand issues and trends affecting local governments and utilities. Our sole focus is on this specialized area. As a result, we speak your language.
Company Timeline
- 1978 SSI is founded in Lebanon, Ohio.
- 1979 First local government computer system is installed in Lebanon.
- 1982 First SSI Mix takes place in Columbus.
- 1985 SSI moves into new 7,000 sq. ft facility
- 1988 10th anniversary celebration and open house
- 1998 SSI celebrates its 20th Anniversary with a groundbreaking ceremony for a new 5,000 sq. ft addition to the 7,000 sq ft facility
- 1999 SSI prepares its customers for a successful Y2K transition.
- 2001 eGovProfessional, a new generation of software is released.
- 2003 Transition to an ESOP begins
- 2003 25th Anniversary Celebration
- 2004 SSI completes transition to 100% employee ownership.
- 2006 SSI acquires CRC, a Louisville, KY company to expand its customer base and geographical area.
